“We The People,” a multimedia exploration of homelessness in the Bay Area was created and will be presented by NDNU graduate Bette Maisel. She will be speaking, as will Monique Hunter, one of our Human Services students. This is free; the art will be for sale and donations are welcome; they will go to the artist’s year of service in Africa and to support the women of St. Vincent de Paul’s Catherine Center.

Society of St. Vincent de Paul of San Mateo County
The Society of St. Vincent de Paul of San Mateo County is seeking a high energy individual with strong interpersonal and organizational skills to support an existing cadre of dedicated volunteers and to recruit, orientate and coordinate additional volunteers for new initiatives currently being designed to impact the cycle of poverty for those forgotten, suffering or deprived.

SVdP’s Catherine’s Center Relief Staff (Part-Time)
This part-time staff position is responsible for resident oversight during weekend and evening hours when the full-time staff is not available. Examples of duties include, but are not limited to the following: supervision of client activities, maintaining a safe and supportive environment and ensuring client adherence to program rules, especially regarding clean and sober behavior. Must be responsible, able to relate to and communicate clearly with people and be a good problem solver. Must have a clean DMV report. Must have experience working with people in crisis and/or monitoring residents. Must exhibit willingness to assist in Mission implementation for a not-for-profit. As appropriate, some college preferred, including alcohol and drug studies and conflict resolution skills.
