2018 GraduationMay 5th, 2018
Countdown to May 2018 Graduation!

Great opportunities – the following organizations are actively seeking a student intern:

Peninsula Volunteers, Menlo Park.  Learn more!  Work may include recruiting, screening, and placing volunteers; community engagement with individual and business groups; marketing opportunities to the local community; media management; writing web content and newspaper articles; volunteer retention – training, orientation, and recognition; and fundraising.  This intern would work directly with Mary Rached, who is the Director of Volunteers.  She is energetic, professional, wonderful to work with, and very committed to the work of this great organization.  (They also need on-call drivers for their Meals on Wheels program.  FYI in case you know someone who wants a rewarding volunteer opportunity and is available weekday mornings for approximately three hour shifts.)

Mentoring Services, Redwood City.  Learn more!  This organization matches youth-in-need with responsible “friends” in long-term mentoring relationships.  They are seeking an intern to help the Mentoring Services department  to recruit mentors.  Projects will include writing social media content and press releases, developing volunteer recruitment campaigns, and assisting at recruitment events.

For a more detailed description of either internship, including contact information, send an email to  If after reading the description you are interested, come talk with your advisor or Program Director about how you get started.  Generally, an internship takes place over four full months with a three to six hour per week commitment, adding up to a total of 70 on-site hours.  A final paper is due at the end of your internship, assessing your learning.  Internships are usually structured toward three Upper Division units in a Major concentration.
